Our Story

SimplyNCgoods runs on passion for supporting and sharing North Carolina’s small businesses!

SimplyNCGoods was created by Anna (at right in picture), a North Carolina native and travel blogger with a focus on small towns in the South. She loves supporting small businesses and realized that a subscription box would allow her to buy from multiple small businesses and bring awareness to the many creators and artisans in NC.

After about a year of running SimplyNCGoods, Anna realized that she needed to make some adjustments in her commitments based on the needs of her family and herself. She made the difficult decision to put the business up for sale, with hopes someone with just as much passion for North Carolina’s small businesses would take the reigns.

That’s where the current owners, Michelle & Gabriel, come into the picture…

Hi! We’re Michelle & Gabriel, lifelong NC residents who have resided in 14 different towns or cities in the state throughout our lifetimes. We love supporting local restaurants, stores, and artisans throughout the state.

In late 2021, as things began to open back up following pandemic-related closures, we felt strongly about supporting small, local businesses. Michelle started the @NC_Local Instagram account to highlight local artisans, landmarks, and businesses, helping others get to know the variety of things available right here in North Carolina. Gabriel soon joined the efforts, using his video and editing skills to help make our posts.

We loved the idea of SimplyNCGoods from the first post Anna made announcing these subscription boxes. We were subscribers and supporters from the beginning, even helping Anna connect with some local businesses when she chose to highlight our town. So, when we saw that Anna was putting SimplyNCGoods up for sale, well…

We basically had a period of discussions that went from “Hope someone continues this awesome way to support small businesses” to “Could we be the someone who continues this?” Eventually we decided we could be the ones to continue sharing unique products from NC-based businesses.

And the rest, as the say, is history…

We took over the mission of SimplyNCgoods in July 2023, and are excited to continue to bring you curated boxes filled with goods that come from right here in North Carolina. With each purchase, you’re not only supporting our efforts to highlight NC-based artisans, you’re also supporting the dreams of the entrepreneurs who have products featured in each box.

That’s our story.  How will you be part of the SimplyNCGoods story?
